Hello All, 
It has been a long time since we have sent out a newsletter, but some major changes are taking place, and we wanted you to know!

Perhaps the biggest news is that we are in the process of *adding* a name to our old "Doorways Web Hosting" persona. We have secured the domain name, "AlphaDoor" (in all the major extensions!), and will start to post "Doorways" content on those websites soon.
But even before adding content to these domain names, we are making some big improvements in our services to you! Among these changes will come many new features, as well as some radical changes to some old ones.

Please note the info about access to the new control panel, where you can change passwords, and also about access to the new and improved webmail, as well as the new pop3 server address needed in mail programs such as for instance Outlook!

Among the new changes are:

ALL NEW SERVERS!

(Our new servers are over 3 times faster and have increased Bandwidth as well.) 

A new "Brain"! (Now called...)

A NEW CONTROL PANEL!

(You can go to http://YOURdomain.ext/siteadmin/index.php and log on to change passwords etc.)

UserID = YOURUserName (often the domain name WITHOUT .extension)
Password = YOURUserName followed by the number 1 ( mydomain1) 

A NEW MAIL LIST SERVER! (See address above to access.)

NEW AND IMPROVED WEBMAIL! 

(http://yourdomain.ext/webmail)

UserID: the whole email address ( me@mydomain.ext)
Password: what is before the at sign followed by the number 1 (me1)***

Note: Remember to change what's in the "Sender" field from "nobody" to your own name, as otherwise your messages may be considered spam by other servers. (Click the icon on the right of the box to change it.)

Set-up of an ordinary mail program:

Pop3 server: mail.YOURdomain.ext 
UserID: the whole mail address 
Password: what comes before the @ sign, followed by the number 1 (me1)***

*** You may wish to change your password, by using "siteadmin" as soon as possible!

NEW SPAM PROTECTION!

(We will have TWO anti-spam programs now. A 'normal' SPAM blocker *and* a new type that, when you get an email from a new address it automatically sends out a verification email to the sending address, saying something like, "Due to increased SPAM traffic, we are asking for a (ONE TIME) simple 'reply' to this email to verify this as coming from a valid sender.". This should bring SPAM to virtually ZERO!) ...Of course, SPAM protection can be 'turned off' for your domain if you request too. :-) New FrontPage Extensions! (No longer will FTP to a FrontPage enabled domain be a problem!)

We will send another email to each of you, individually, to inform you of any changes particular to your domain that you need to know about. In the majority of cases, however, the transition should be smooth, and changes will be minimal.

We apologise for any inconvenience you may have with logging on with new user names and passwords.Passwords are encrypted on the old servers and can't be transferred to the new servers.


Remember: When the new server has been routed, you can go to http://YOURdomain.ext/siteadmin/index.php and log on to change passwords etc.


We hope you enjoy the increased speed, advanced functions, and even our new name! :-)
